Good day, Madeleine! Thanks for popping in to planDisney with your practically perfect question. How lovely that you’ll be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth in just a few days.
I checked with my friends Mary and Bert, and with a spoonful of sugar they informed me that MagicBands are indeed coming to
Disneyland Resort but haven’t arrived just yet. Your MagicBand from Walt Disney World Resort will continue to unlock the magic there, but tuck it away during your visit to Disneyland Resort as you’ll mostly be using the
Disneyland mobile app.
Madeleine, if you haven’t already, kindly download the
Disneyland mobile app as it is different from the My Disney Experience (MDE) app you use in Florida. The Disneyland mobile app is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious-ly helpful in managing logistics while at Disneyland Resort, similar to the MDE app. One of my most used features is
mobile ordering so I can arrange for snacks while waiting in queues. I love having my Mickey-shaped Beignets ready for me at the
Mint Julep Bar as soon as I exit
Pirates of the Caribbean. (This attraction, by the way, is different from the one you're used to at Magic Kingdom Park, so give it a go!)
As I'm continuously using the Disneyland mobile app, I always pack a portable charger in my Magic Carpet Bag to keep my phone powered up, along with my reusable water bottle to use the water filling stations for hydration and replenishment.
I have a little surprise for you, unique to Disneyland Resort - when you add
Disney Genie+ service to your day, it gives you complimentary access to
Disney PhotoPass! This means you’ll have unlimited digital downloads from your day, so take advantage of finding the
Disney PhotoPass Photographers to snap photos and enjoy the candid shots captured on attractions.
Everything is possible, even the impossible. You’re going to love the Disney magic unique to Anaheim, such as
Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land and the new
Avengers Campus. With Disneyland Park being THE original park, I feel an overwhelming wave of nostalgia as I pass the Fire Department on Main Street, U.S.A., above which you’ll see Walt’s apartment. The light in the window remains on in the spirit of magic awaiting you, as you enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.
You’re on the brink of adventure, Madeleine. I wish you a Jolly Holiday at the Disneyland Resort! Cheers!
