Well hiya there Kathy - wishing you a very warm Canadian welcome here at planDisney!
I hope you're getting excited about your trip down to Orlando in February; when the winter weather dips down below double-digits there really isn't anything better to take the edge off than dreaming of the warmer weather and sunny skies that await you
very soon! I'm glad that you came to ask me for a bit of
MagicBand knowledge, as we love taking advantage of it as much as we can during any Walt Disney World Resort stay.
We recently hosted a number of family and friends traveling down from Canada, and many of them wanted to be able to link their own credit cards (different from the one originally used to secure the reservation) to their respective MagicBands. They were able to do so by speaking with the Front Desk Cast Members at their
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, and assigning their own 4-Digit pin code. This allowed them to be responsible for their own shopping at
merchandise locations during the week and
paying for dining without requiring the primary guest on the reservation to be present. (Note that currently, this may require each guest wishing to link to another credit card to be over 18 years of age in order to do so, and may be subject to change.)
Did you know that a MagicBand+ has a few more fun functions besides making payments and gaining entry to doors and turnstiles? If you have one, be sure to take the opportunity to interact with the golden statues of the
Fab 50 Character Collection before the end of the
50th Anniversary Celebration in March. You can even transform your MagicBand+ into a tracking device at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as you complete missions with Batuu Bounty Hunters in tandem with the
Play Disney Parks mobile app; there's just something super neat about having your wrist light up and vibrate as you get closer to your quarry at the edge of a galaxy far, far, away.
Don't hesitate to
come back here to planDisney to ask me about anything else that may be useful on your journey next month, I hope you're successful in linking your MagicBand to another credit card during your upcoming trip! As I always say on any adventurous expedition: There comes a time for you to pay the price, and not paying for everyone else is pretty nice!
Here's to your next great adventure, and all the great possibilities you can accomplish with the flick of your wrist!
