Welcome to planDisney, Kori!
Haul out the holly because you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort during the
most magical time of the year! The holiday trees located throughout the theme parks and resorts are all amazing, but the tree with the most "wow" factor can be found at the top of Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom Park. Stand in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., to get a family shot with Cinderella Castle in the background, then turn around in that same spot to get a shot with the tree. This year's holiday card will basically write itself!
Your
My Disney Experience account is your greatest planning tool before, during, and after your visit. Each Guest can either have their own My Disney Experience account or an account profile managed by another person. You can view and make plans with other members of your party once you're connected as
Family and Friends. Take a look at your current
Family and Friends list, Kori, and take note of which names have the words "Plans managed by me" next to them. You'll see why this is important in a moment.
Each Guest over the age of three currently requires valid admission, a
theme park reservation, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) to enter the parks. You can link MagicBand+ to anyone that appears on your Family and Friends list; however, you can only manage MagicBands for those whose account profiles you manage. Allow me to illustrate what this means.
I
linked a MagicBand+ to my account last month. In the My Disney Experience mobile app, I can update my MagicBand+ (three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen --> MagicBands and more). Inspired by your question, I just linked a MagicBand+ to my mother-in-law's My Disney Experience account for our trip next month. After linking, I no longer see her MagicBand+ in the
My Disney Experience mobile app on my phone because I do not manage her account. She will have to update her band using her My Disney Experience mobile app. In fact, there's already an update needed that I was unable to complete during the linking process because the band was not sufficiently charged. I will, however, be able to view and manage the MagicBand+ for my daughter because I manage her My Disney Experience account profile.
I hope this information helps clarify what you can and cannot do for others when it comes to MagicBand+ and My Disney Experience. Please don't hesitate to
reach out with any follow-up questions.
Choose magic,
