How do I link another family to MDE and include their minor child? I am able to add the adults but it won't let me add their child. We are 2 families with kids going to Disney World and we want to book LL together.

    Hi Adrienne, welcome to planDisney!

December is one of the sweetest times of year to experience the magic of Walt Disney World Resort. Case in point - the Sugar Plum Fairy visits many of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels. The life-size gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a short walk or boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park. Just follow your nose (and the clearly marked signage) to the lobby!

When vacationing with others, it's important for everyone in your party to be connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. This lets you view and make plans (purchase Disney Genie+ service, make Lightning Lane reservations, view Disney PhotoPass images, make dining reservations, etc) for each other. Guests over the age of 13 may have their own My Disney Experience accounts. Children under the age of 13 and Guests that do not wish to create their own accounts have My Disney Experience account profiles that are housed under an adult's account.

You've asked a great question about how to add a My Disney Experience account profile managed under another person's My Disney Experience account to your Family and Friends list. It sounds like you've already done the first important step, which is to connect with the adult that manages the child as Family and Friends. Here are your next steps:

    1. Ask the adult that manages the child's account to access their Family and Friends list in My Disney Experience. If "My List is Shared" appears next to their own name, proceed to step 2. If "My List is Private" appears, they need to click "Update" and "Share My List." This will allow other members of their traveling party (that's you!) to connect with their child.
    2. On your Family and Friends list, click "Add a Guest" and select "Find through my connected Guests." The child's name should automagically appear because you are connected to the person that manages their account profile and their Family and Friends list is shared.

Similar steps can be followed in the My Disney Experience mobile app. To access your Family and Friends list on the app, click the three small lines at the bottom righthand corner of the homepage --> Scroll down to "My Profile" --> Click the "Family and Friends list" tab.

In my experience, an app restart or webpage refresh is needed if step 1 changes are happening while you're logged into your My Disney Experience account. If you're still having trouble adding the child to your Family and Friends list, a friendly Cast Member at the My Disney Experience, MagicBand, MagicBand+ number would be happy to assist.

Thanks for letting planDisney help you plan Disney, Adrienne. Hope to see you real soon!
