Hey there, hi there, ho there, Friend!
Welcome to planDisney! We’re so glad you stopped by with your question. I’m thrilled to help you plan your magical
Walt Disney World Resort adventure, and even happier to chat about one of my favorite tools for extra pixie dust: the Disney Visa Rewards Redemption Card!
While you won’t be able to link your Disney Visa Rewards Redemption Card directly to your
MagicBand, there’s a super convenient way to still use those well-earned rewards during your stay.
Here’s how it works: when you're staying at a
Disney Resort hotel, your MagicBand acts like your magic key. It unlocks your room, holds your park tickets, and yes, lets you charge purchases back to your Resort hotel folio. At check-in, you'll link a credit or debit card to your account, and all those purchases you make with your MagicBand (like snacks, souvenirs, or a DOLE Whip or two) will show up there.
But here's the trick: before those charges are finalized (usually the night before check-out or when your folio reaches a certain balance) you can swing by the front desk and use your Disney Visa Rewards Redemption Card to pay it down. That way, you still enjoy the ease of tapping your MagicBand while making the most of your rewards!
A couple of bonus tips: keep your physical Disney Visa card handy if you're hoping to take advantage of the Disney Visa Cardmember perks in the parks. MagicBand charges don’t automatically apply those savings unless you use the card itself at the register.
If you have more questions, whether it’s about budgeting for snacks or plotting to save time on your favorite attractions with Lightning Lanes, I’m all ears and happy to help!
Wishing you magic, memories, and maybe a few extra Mickey-shaped treats,
Emille
