Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tiffany!
I love seeing questions from my fellow South Carolinians. I also hope you are getting excited for your vacation, it's just days away. I'm currently in Walt Disney World® Resort as I type, which has me excited for you!
If you're like me, you've been collecting Disney Gift Cards from select retailers to help cover costs while on vacation - especially if you shop at retailers that offer discounts on gift cards when you use their bank-issued credit/debit cards. This strategy has made me somewhat of a Disney Gift Card using expert.
While guests are still not able to link a Disney Gift Card to their My Disney Experience Account as a method of payment for incidentals, here are some tips that might help:
• Link a valid credit card to your My Disney Experience Account so your MagicBand will be activated for charging. Use your MagicBand when needing to charge items to your Walt Disney World® Resort hotel account.
• Simply stop by the front desk of your lobby and pay down your account with your Disney Gift Cards. Just make sure you do this every third day, resort's charge guests' accounts every 72 hours. This strategy ensures you use every cent of your gift card and prevents you from having to cart them around. So many times I'd come home and find cards at the bottom of my purse that still had a few dollars on them, or weren't used at all, negating my budget-minded strategy of discounted gift cards.
• Another tip:
Disneygiftcard.com allows you to manage your gift cards by combining the balances of multiply cards onto just one. Select the highlighted link to check it out!
I hope this helps, Tiffany! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly with any additional questions you may have. I am here to help!
