Can I link a Disney gift card to my Magic Band if I'm not staying at a Disney Resort?

    Hi Kristi!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Unfortunately, unless you are a guest staying at a Disney Resort hotel, it is not possible to make charges using your MagicBand.  However, you can still enjoy wearing and using MagicBands by linking your theme park tickets (including any special events tickets that you may have purchased) and you can also use it to link any PhotoPass or Memory Maker photos to your My Disney Experience account.

You can purchase your MagicBands online at shopDisney in advance of your trip.  There are many lovely designs to choose from, including special limited editions.  You might also prefer to wait until you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort as you can purchase MagicBands from a number of locations, and it's nice to see them in person before you buy!  Have a look in Mouse Gear at Epcot,  Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. and Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom Park, and World of Disney and Marketplace Co-Op - D-Tech on Demand at Disney Springs for a great selection.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on any events that may be happening during your stay.
