Hello Aislinn, and thank you so much for coming to
planDisney with your question. Disney's partnership with Chase for debit and credit cards is a fantastic way to save money when enjoying all that the
Walt Disney World Resort has to offer and can potentially earn Disney Rewards Dollars to put towards your next vacation as well.
There appears, however, to be an important distinction to note when differentiating the Disney Visa Debit Card with a Chase checking account from the Disney Visa Credit Card from Chase as they both have similar benefits but only one earns Disney Rewards Dollars.
At the moment, the
Disney Visa Debit Card cardmembers receive perks like 10% off select merchandise at select locations, 10% off select dining locations most days, 15% off select guided tours, 10 - 20% off select purchases at select locations, and Disney Character Experiences with complimentary downloads of your photos.
The Disney Visa Credit Card gives cardmembers virtually the same perks as those above, but, you can earn Disney Rewards Dollars. The Disney Visa Credit Card has two different options, the
Disney Premier Visa Card or the Disney Visa Card, both of which come with new Disney Visa cardmember offers that will change from time to time. At this moment, Disney Premier Visa cardmembers will earn 5% in Disney Rewards Dollars on purchases made directly at
Disney +,
Hulu, or
ESPN +. Cardmembers will also earn 2% on purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and most Disney locations in the U.S. Lastly, cardmembers will earn 1% on all other card purchases. Disney Visa cardmembers, on the other hand, will only earn the 1% on all card purchases. If you choose either card, you will link your Disney account with your Disney Visa Card account to manage your
Disney Rewards Dollars, including checking your balance, requesting a redemption card, and more!
I hope this clears up the difference between the Disney Visa Debit Card that doesn't earn Disney Rewards Dollars and the Disney Visa Credit Card that does earn Disney Rewards Dollars. If you have any further questions about your debit card and its benefits, I suggest contacting
Disney Debit.
Regardless of the card you choose, the benefits will make your next Disney World vacation more affordable and enjoyable!
Cheers,
Brent
