    Can I link a debit or wdw gift card to my Magicband?

    Hi Jann!

    Thanks for coming back to see us at planDisney and I'm so happy to help you get ready for your next trip! I'm glad to hear that you will be using MagicBands during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation because they really help to make a vacation easier and more convenient. I love being able to access theme park tickets, Lightning Lane reservations and my Disney PhotoPass account with just the touch of my MagicBand. Plus, it's so much fun to pick a MagicBand that has my favorite color, Disney Character, attraction or even Disney snacks!

    Guests who are staying at a Disney Resort hotel can use their MagicBands to make purchases that are charged to their hotel room account. Since these charges are added to their room account, they will eventually be charged to the credit card or debit card linked to the account. So if you will be staying at a Disney Resort hotel, then once you complete Online Check-In to add a credit card to your account, you will be able to make purchases that will be charged to that card.

    Your hotel account charges are generally settled on the last night of your stay at a Disney Resort hotel, so if you would like to use a Disney Gift Card to pay off your account balance, simply visit the Front Desk. Since your card is generally charged overnight on the last night of your stay, I recommend that you head to the Front Desk no later than the day before your check-out day to pay the balance of your account, which will include any purchases made with your MagicBand.

    Unfortunately, there is no way to directly link a credit card or other payment method to your MagicBand if you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel. So if you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel for your vacation, you won't be able to use your MagicBand to make purchases during your trip. If that is the case, then you can use your Disney Gift Cards directly to pay for your vacation purchases. I love accessing my Disney Gift Cards from my smartphone's mobile wallet, which I think is almost as easy as using my MagicBand!
