Hi can we link a credit card to a magic band if we are staying off site? Weighing up cost of disney resort now free dining isn't offered for novermeber 2020 departures. Thanks

    Hi Amy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Coming from the UK myself, I have also been awaiting the announcement of free Disney Dining in 2020.  Bookings for this can be made by Guests from the UK, from 25th April-2nd July 2019 for select arrivals in 2020 : 1st January-29th March, and 19th April-3rd October.  This is such a great offer, which includes a Disney Gift Card and Memory Maker, when making your reservation at a participating Disney Resort hotel.  Disney's MagicBands are available to Guests who are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, but can only be used by linking to your My Disney Experience account for theme park admission, FastPass+ reservations and Memory Maker.  MagicBands may only be used for room charging if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, so you are not permitted to link a credit card to your MagicBand if staying elsewhere.  There are so many calculations to be made when weighing up the costs of your holiday, and I understand the savings to be made with the free Dining offer, but there are also many benefits to staying at a Disney Resort hotel - not least the fun of being immersed in the magic 24 hours a day!  Also, you will be in close proximity to all the Walt Disney World Resort parks and Disney Springs, enabling you to make the most of every precious moment.  I recommend you look at all the Disney Resort hotels, as there is something for everyone, to suit all budgets.  You might also like to consider staying at a Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel, as there are certain Walt Disney World benefits available by staying there, including Extra Magic Hours, and early access to FastPass+ reservations at 60 days in advance.

If we can help you further with making a decision about where to stay, please come back and visit us again.  We will be happy to help.
