how do i link a childs magic band under a parents account?

Hi, Gary!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question!

What did we ever do without MagicBands?  Wearing your MagicBand allows you to unlock your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room, access your theme park tickets to enter the parks, use your FastPass+ selections, and connect your Disney PhotoPass Service pictures to your My Disney Experience account.  During your resort hotel stay, you can even use your MagicBand to charge purchases to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room.  I love that you can do all of this without ever having to fumble through your bag or wallet.  It's all right there on your wrist!

Since MagicBands are used to access all of the information in your My Disney Experience account, you'll first want to make sure that all of the members of your travel party, including the little Mouseketeers, are listed in your My Disney Experience account.  If the child who you are wishing to link is included in your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation, he or she should already show up in your account.  If not, it's easy to add another guest to your Family & Friends List.

Simply open your My Disney Experience mobile app and click on the three little lines in the bottom-right corner of the screen.  From there, scroll down to "My Profile."  On the next screen, you will want to click "Family & Friends List" at the top of the page, then scroll down to "Add a Guest."

Once all of the guests in your party are in your Family & Friends List, you can view the MagicBands associated with each guest.  In the "My Profile" section of the app, click on "MagicBands & Cards."  Your complimentary MagicBands that are included in your resort hotel stay should automatically be linked to your My Disney Experience account, but if for some reason they are not, or if you purchased additional MagicBands, you can link them yourself.  In the "MagicBands & Cards" area of the app, just click on "Link a MagicBand or Card," and enter the ID number found on the back of your MagicBand.

Did you know that each guest may have multiple MagicBands associated with their My Disney Experience profile?  You may use any of your active MagicBands interchangeably, as long as the batteries are still functioning.  I like to bring along several different MagicBands and coordinate them with my outfits!

Gary, if you have any issues with setting up your My Disney Experience Family & Friends List or linking your MagicBands, feel free to call the Help Center.  A friendly Cast Member will be able to get that all sorted out for you faster than you can say, "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!"

    Have a magical day!
