Hi Lindsay! We will be taking my almost 3 year old daughter to Disney World for the first time in just two weeks! Do you have any special tips or tricks to manage the parks with a toddler this age? What are your favorite must do rides you recommend?

Jessica, you are going to smile wider than the Cheshire Cat when you and your family enter Magic Kingdom! The magic is so tangible when you’re on vacation with a preschooler. We call it a “Kindermoon!”

My best advice is to be prepared and to fully understand your child’s schedule and demeanor. My kids need a stroller, even at age 6, so visiting the Stroller Rentals or renting from Kingdom Strollers is the way to go.  The Baby Care Centers, located in Walt Disney World Resort’s 4 Theme Parks, offer changing tables, high chairs and a sofa and TV for quiet time. I bring my baby there to nap or to visit the Baby Care store for emergency diapering supplies. You can bring any food or drink you like into the parks, just make sure it fits into your bag. My kids need that snack at 10:30, and it comes in handy while we’re walking across the park!

As far as attractions go, there are over 80 activities perfectly suited for a 3-year-old! My preschool favorites are Peter Pan’s flight, the Disney Junior LIVE show, Dumbo, and Journey of The Little Mermaid. Use Extra Magic Hours in the morning to cram more fun into your park day without using too many FastPass+ passes. Plan to see Magician Mickey and marvel at your daughter’s face; you can catch all those memories with Memory Maker and Disney’s Photopass Photographers, a must-have for any Disney Vacation. Please come back and ask again. I’m over the moon to help you plan your vacation! ~Lindsey
