Hi .We have limited time but are thinking of doing a one day hopper park and visiting animal kingdom and Hollywood studios . Can you let me know if that is possible and where we can purchase . Also can we add genie plus to minimise queuing times

Hello there, Aileen, welcome to planDisney!

If we dream it, we can do it! Planning a one-day visit to two Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks is doable. My family and I did three parks in one day earlier this year, and it was some of the most fun we’ve had in all of our visits to The Most Magical Place on Earth.

The first thing you should do is to make sure you create a My Disney Experience account online and create a Family & Friends List. Once you’ve arrived in the States, download the My Disney Experience App, log into your account, click the menu icon (three horizontal lines in the bottom right), and tap “My Tickets & Passes.” Here, you can buy your 1 Day with Park Hopper Option tickets and link them to your Family & Friends List Guests. Note that Disney Genie+, the service to book and use Lightning Lane entrance return times, is not available to purchase in advance as it must be purchased on the day of your visit. Guests can make their first Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance selection starting at 7:00 AM, so I suggest waking up a few minutes before then to purchase Genie+ for your entire party, so you’re ready by the 7:00 AM booking. If you are a Disney Resorts Collection Guest, you can also make your first Individual Lightning Lane purchase at 7:00 AM, but if you are staying elsewhere, you will need to wait until the park opens to book one of these Á La Carte attractions. Since you want to minimize queue waiting times, continue stacking Lightning Lane entrance selections every two hours or after you’ve redeemed a selection. This will go a long way in ensuring you see and experience as much as possible in your tight schedule.

I suggest rope-dropping Animal Kingdom since that park typically closes earlier than Hollywood Studios. This means taking advantage of Early Entry if you are a Disney Resorts Collection Guest or being in line at least 30 minutes before the park's opening for non-Disney hotel Guests. I have had many experiences getting on things like Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and DINOSAUR with minimal to no wait when arriving in the morning. Hopefully, you will have success purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for Avatar Flight of Passage within an hour or two of your arrival so you can check other attractions off your list before returning to Avatar's Lightning Lane entrance.

Once you’ve wrapped up your time at Animal Kingdom, you can utilize the complimentary bus transportation to hitch a ride to Hollywood Studios. If you want to save time, you could utilize Disney’s Minnie Van Service, operated by Lyft, to get there in style and probably a little faster. Hopefully, you have made a Lightning Lane entrance selection or two for rides at Hollywood Studios before your arrival, so you should hop on your My Disney Experience app and head to the Tip Board to see what the Standby Line wait times are for the rides you are interested in. Some favorites here are The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash.

I know this may be a lot to take in, but hopefully, it gives you a good idea of how to accomplish as much as possible in a one-day visit to two Disney World Theme Parks. If you would like more suggestions on specific rides or experiences that I think are worth Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance selections, visit planDisney again and submit me a question. I would be happy to elaborate more.

    See you real soon!
