Hello, Debbie!
Congratulations on your wedding! What a wonderful way to celebrate...with a trip to Walt Disney World!
We were recently in Walt Disney World with two family members with mobility issues. Each one had his or her doctor write a letter explaining the need to avoid standing for long periods of time. We presented these letters to a Cast Member at Guest Relations (inside any park) and were given two Guest Assistance Cards, which entitled the Guests with the disabilities and up to five family members (each) access to an alternate entrance if one is available. This was a lifesaver as our family members simply would not have been able to stand for hours at a time in order to get onto an attraction. It was truly wonderful! I'm sure you'll think so, too.
If you are unsure of being able to walk an entire park, look into renting either a wheelchair or an Electric Convenience Vehicle. You can find more information about the rental fees on
WDW's Guest Services page.
Regarding parking, be sure to bring your disabled tag from home, if you have one, so that you will have access to very convenient parking spaces at each park. These spaces are absolutely the closest to park entrances, so you'll want to be sure to utilize this, too.
Please send more questions as you think of them; I'd love to help you plan an absolutely magical celebratory trip to Walt Disney World!
