Walt Disney World Resort frequently advertises savings and special offers, and it's always nice to compare the various savings opportunities for rooms, tickets, and packages. I'm happy to help you plan for a late summer getaway, and I have some tips to share that will make it easy as pie.
First things first: I always start on the
Special Offers page to see what savings opportunities I qualify for. I see that the current offers for resort hotel room discounts run through late July, but you're planning an August vacation. My advice is to book the room you want now to lock it in, and then you'll be able to apply any special offers that you're eligible for if and when they come along. If Disney does end up offering a discount for late summer, just reach out to a friendly Cast Member via the
Help Center and they will help you manage your booking to provide you with those savings! If your travel is contingent on a special offer for late summer, be sure to read the terms and conditions of your booking in case you need to cancel.
My next tip is to evaluate the value that's built into your vacation, especially for this upcoming summer. Even though there's no current offer for August dates, your trip does fall within the
Cool Kids' Summer window! This event runs from May 26-September 8, 2026, and there's going to be some amazing offerings, including the following:
- all Disney Resort Hotel guests receive complimentary admission to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on check-in day (subject to availability)
- Jessie's Roundup with Toy Story pals in Magic Kingdom
- a new Bluey experience at Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom
- the Muppets take over Rock 'n' Rollercoaster in Hollywood Studios
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin will resume operations

Oh, and I almost forgot! Kids ages 3-9 receive a
free Disney Dining Plan when you book a vacation package and purchase a dining plan for each guest ages 10 and up. Talk about value!
