    I would liike to give my grandchildren a "character meal" experience WITHOUT a theme park ticket. Is that possible at any of the Disney Resorts? I have found some offsite hotels that have CM, but want to see some of Disney's finer resorts, too

    There are some extraordinary character dining experiences available in the Disney resorts.  Your question couldn't be more timely because I just wrote an article for the Orbitz blog covering this specific topic.  It's called "Dining with Character Outside the Disney Theme Parks" and it will appear later this month at orbitz.com/blog.

    Here are my favorite character dining experiences outside the Disney theme parks:

    1.  Breakfast with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey's on the fourth floor Grand Concourse of Disney's Contemporary Resort is my favorite way to start the day on Walt Disney World property.  There's a buffet here that will please even the pickiest eaters and everyone loves watching the monorail glide by as you dine.

    2.  Dinner at 1900 Park Fare on the first floor of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a regal and fun affair.  Who doesn't want their picture taken with that divine princess, Cinderella?  The buffet here is quite lovely as well.  If you'd prefer to meet up with Alice in Wonderland and friends, then breakfast here would be a better choice.

    I bet your grandchildren would delight in either of these amazing character dining experiences, and since neither is in a Disney theme park, an admission ticket to the parks is not required.
