Our lightsaber build reservation at Savi’s Workshop is in the middle of the day. What are our options for storing lightsabers until the end of day so we can still ride rides and enjoy the rest of the park? How do other people hold on to their lightsabers?

Welcome Young Padawan to planDisney. I sense the Force to be very strong within you especially since you are looking to build a Lightsaber. Oh, the endless possibilities you have! I was fortunate enough to build my very own Lightsaber this past April at Walt Disney World Resort and I’ll be more than happy to share what I did.

I did happen to book my time at Savi’s Workshop later in the day. It was actually closer to the park’s closing time so I didn’t board any attractions with it, just carried it across my back until we headed back to our resort. I do know my fellow Panelist, Donyell, and her daughters built Lightsabers as well. She mentioned that you will hang on to them for the rest of the day but Cast Members are more than happy to store it for you while you experience certain attractions. After getting off, you will collect your Lightsaber and keep going.

I know carrying it around for the rest of the day can be a little different but I did find the strap, that is attached to the carrying case, to be extremely helpful. I even carried mine home on an airplane! If you are staying at a nearby hotel you may want to consider stepping out to store it in your room and enjoying dinner or a late lunch at Downtown Disney District. Otherwise, embrace this power as you explore the Disneyland Resort with your new tool of a Jedi.

May the Force be with you.
