How does Lightning Lane Multi Pass work with children under 3 years of age that don't require a park ticket, do they just get to ride with a parent on their Multi Pass reservation (ex. Dumbo)?

Hi there, Stephanie, and welcome to planDisney!

Some of my favorite memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth are those when my boys were under 3 years old. Experiencing the thrills and excitement through their young eyes made my heart sing. Every time that I ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant, for example, I think back to the happy squeals of my little one dressed as Mickey Mouse before a fun night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Let’s talk about using the Lightning Lane Pass system with your tiny Mouseketeer. Because little ones under the age of 3 are Guests of Mickey and don’t need a theme park ticket, they also do not need special access to the attraction Lightning Lanes. When it’s time to redeem your Lightning Lane during the callback time window, simply take your child with you. They will not need to tap in.

Now, many attractions have height requirements. So, be sure to check the linked website or the My Disney Experience App to see which attractions your little one can ride with you. My kiddos love attractions with no height requirements like Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen Ever After, and “it’s a small world.” And if your little one is a bit tall for their age, they’re totally able to ride attractions with low requirements like Alien Swirling Saucers and Tomorrowland Speedway.

AN EXTRA GEM: Rider Switch Service is a great way for you to still experience rides with higher height requirements (or are too intense for your little one). Set up Rider Switch with a friendly Cast Member near the attraction’s entrance, then one adult can wait with the little one while another group rides. Then, like the name suggests, you switch! This will really come in handy for attractions that you don’t have a Lighting Lane for because the second riding group gets to go through Lightning Lane to make the second wait with the child shorter.

I have a feeling that you’re going to have a practically perfect visit with your little one, Stephanie. Until then, if you have any more questions about your vacation, give us a holler here at planDisney
