Hi there, Susan. Welcome to planDisney!
Like Tarzan and Jane, I'm thrilled you decided to swing by with your question! I'm excited to hear you're planning an expedition to
Animal Kingdom. I'll be heading there myself early next week!
Susan, let's brave the planDisney jungle together and dig into the details about the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your Lightning Lane selections seven days before your check-in date. If you are staying off-site, you can make your selections three days before your arrival, and you can begin making your purchases at 7 AM EST.
If Animal Kingdom is your first park in the morning, you will make all three ride selections for Animal Kingdom. For example, just yesterday, I purchased passes for
Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and the brand-new attraction,
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The Lightning Lane Multi Pass operates on a "use one, get one" basis. This means that once you arrive at Animal Kingdom and use your first Lightning Lane Pass, and as long as you have a theme park ticket with the
Park Hopper Option, you will be free to make a new selection. This could be for another available attraction in Animal Kingdom, or you could select an available attraction at Magic Kingdom. You would not have to pay again or pay the difference, even though Magic Kingdom has a higher cost. You also do not need to be in
Magic Kingdom to make this selection.
Here are a few other things to keep in mind. Since you purchased the pass for Animal Kingdom, you need to scan into Animal Kingdom and use your pass there. You cannot allow these passes to expire and go straight to Magic Kingdom. Susan, I am also all about getting the best value for my purchase, so another helpful tip is to make your initial first three Lightning Lanes as early as possible. This way, you'll have more opportunities to select new passes.
Susan, I hope this answers your question. You are always welcome to visit us again if you have any other questions. I'm not sure when you plan on visiting, but I hope you'll have a wildly wonderful time.
Happy planning,
Shonette
