Hi Susan! The new Disney Genie service is certainly exciting! I’m looking forward to experiencing all that it has to offer during a future visit! While we haven’t been able to use the service...yet...I’m happy to share what we at planDisney have learned so far!
Disney Genie will be a complimentary service provided to Guests through your
My Disney Experience app. With the service, you’ll be provided with helpful park planning tips and an itinerary based on your interests! Guests will even receive occasional notifications when ride and attraction lines are shorter than normal!
Disney Genie+ is an upgrade to Disney Genie service that Guests may purchase. This upgraded service will cost $15 per ticket/per day. The upgrade will allow Guests to use the Lightning Lane on many (but not all) attractions throughout the Disney Parks. Guests can select which attraction to attend, one at a time, and use the Lightning Lane to avoid the traditional queue.
Under the new system, Guests will have an additional option to purchase individual Lightning Lane passes for up to two of the most popular rides and attractions that are not included in Disney Genie+. An example would be Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park! The cost of individual Lightning Lane passes will be based upon the attraction, date, and park.
