With the Lightening Pass it seems best to keep all the Passes on one acct when in the park together-if the teens choose to go off on their own can the Passes be transferred to their own accts? If so, can they then be transferred back to a single acct?

    Hi Brooke,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! I can’t wait for your family to enjoy the Happiest Place on Earth! I’m happy to help you strategize how to use Lightning Lane.

As you mentioned, linking your family’s tickets to one app is particularly helpful when managing Lightning Lane reservations. When making Lightning Lane selections on your phone, you can choose all the people in your party who will be joining. I’ve been on trips where I had difficulty booking reservations for the same time when we had our tickets on separate phones. Using one app helps ensure you can make reservations for everyone at the same time.

Tickets can be linked to multiple accounts at once. I’m happy to walk you through how to do that on both the Disneyland website and the Disneyland app.

On the website, log in, then select “My Disneyland,” and you should see the option to “Link Tickets and Passes.” From there, you can link the park tickets of the people in your party. You’ll just need their Ticket ID Number.

On the Disneyland app, tap the three bars at the bottom right. On the next screen, select “My Tickets & Passes,” then tap the “+” sign at the top. This will prompt you to enter the Ticket ID Number as well.

An alternative is to get a MagicBand+. You can use your MagicBand+ to redeem your Lightning Lane reservations. There are scanners at the entrance of each Lightning Lane where you can either scan your park ticket or tap your MagicBand+. This allows you to make all reservations under one app, and the teens can split off and simply use their MagicBand+ to scan in. This option is often simpler than linking tickets to multiple accounts.

There are tons of designs available for MagicBand+, which could also make for a great souvenir! There’s even a new MagicBand+ released for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary. Remember, your MagicBand+ can also be used for park entry and to scan any photos taken with a Disney PhotoPass photographer. Even better—it can also be used at Walt Disney World!

I hope this info helps you feel extra prepared and excited, Brooke! If you have any more questions or want more tips for your visit, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or one of my fellow planDisney panelists. We're always here to help add a little extra pixie dust to your Disney day.

    Enjoy your magical vacation!
