Hey there, James! Welcome back to planDisney!
It looks like your Walt Disney World vacation is just around the corner. How exciting! You’ll be enjoying the rustic charm of
Fort Wilderness and immersing yourself in the magic of the Vacation Kingdom before you know it.
I talked with a friendly Cast Member on the Non-Reservation Questions phone line, and they told me that your lifted golf cart and off-road tires should be fine for you to use at Fort Wilderness. It sounds like you already know some of the rules, but it’s always good to have a refresher. You can find the General Vehicle and General Cart Rules
here, and you’ll also need to follow the Private Cart rules.
- Must be golf-style carts; Off-road, ATV, utility, or construction-type carts are not permitted.
- Maximum speed must not exceed 20 MPH.
- Must be equipped with head and tail lights to operate after dusk.
Since your vehicle still qualifies as a golf cart and doesn’t exceed 20 MPH, it looks like you’ll be all set. Just make sure your head and tail lights are in working order! And remember, you’ll need to present proof of golf cart liability insurance with minimum limits of $100,000 / $300,000 and sign an agreement and waiver at check-in.
I hope this info was helpful, James. There is so much to do at Fort Wilderness, I’m sure you’re going to have the best vacation. Not only is the resort home to the famous
Hoop-Dee-Doo-Musical Review, but there is also
the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, archery, fishing, pony rides, canoe rentals, and more! Come right back to planDisney if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
