Let's say the free dining plan is offered and it happens to be 1 day after our scheduled departure. We have to leave on our departure date and cannot extend it. Can we just add the extra day onto your reservation, to get the dining plan, but leave on time?

Hi Michael!  The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to save some money and try a lot of different restaurants and food while visiting Walt Disney World.  It's even better when it is offered free during a promotion!  Unfortunately, the dates the Dining Plan is offered as a free promotion would have to fall on your check-in date - for example, if the Dining Plan was offered from Sept. 2-28, as long as you checked in on or before Sept. 28, you would qualify for the free dining.  Using those same dates as an example, if you booked August 25 - Sept. 2, but left on the 1st (using the scenario you offered) you would not be able to take advantage of the free dining offer since it wasn't available on the date you checked in.

I hope this helps to clarify how the Free Dining Promotion works.  If you have any other questions that I could answer for you, please ask!  Have a magical day Michael, and thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
