Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Casey!
My family and I are huge fans of the
Disney Dining Plan, and one of the things I love the most about it is how it is always evolving to meet the needs of guests and become more flexible and easy to use. One of the most recent changes is that guests over the age of 21 who are using the Dining Plan now have the choice to order an alcoholic beverage when they're redeeming a Quick-Service or Table-Service credit. When you order, you can choose either an alcoholic beverage or a non-alcoholic drink. If you want to order a soft drink in addition to an alcoholic beverage, you're welcome to do that and then just pay the difference when the bill comes.
There are a few exceptions to this rule though! If you are dining at a buffet, like my favorite one,
Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's
Animal Kingdom Lodge, or at a restaurant where a drink is included with the price of your meal, like
'Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you can order both a soft drink and an alcoholic beverage when you redeem your Table-Service dining credit. That way you don't miss out on any of the delicious specialty cocktails that can be found around Walt Disney World Resort.
I hope this answers your questions, Casey, and let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
