Could you let me know how the pricing works regarding Internet service? I only need a limited amount per day, so I’m just wondering how it works and what the price packaging would be. I would probably need the minimal amount.

    Ahoy, Sandra!

Welcome aboard planDisney! One of my favorite things about cruising is being able to disconnect from the land, but I know sometimes we can’t fully unplug—whether it’s checking in with family or showing off those Castaway Cay views—so let’s jump in and see what internet option might be right for you!

Disney currently utilizes two internet packages onboard their ships—the Internet Package and the Internet + Streaming Package—and no longer uses plans where you purchase a certain amount of data. Think of it as upgrading from the dial-up days of Wreck-It Ralph to something even Ariel could stream “Part of Your World” on!

The Internet Package is currently $26 per day and is best if you’re looking for basic web surfing, like browsing the internet, texting, and a little light social media. The Internet + Streaming Package is currently $42 per day and is best if you need to stream videos from your favorite service (like Disney+, of course!) or make video calls. If you want to purchase a package that covers your entire voyage, there’s a discount of up to 20% if you purchase within the first 24 hours—kind of like finding a hidden Mickey in your budget!

If you have flexibility with when you go online, buying a few 24-hour packages may work perfectly for you. Much of embarkation day is spent at the port, where your regular cell carrier might still work, so you might skip purchasing internet that first day. Then, on Day 2, purchase a 24-hour package around noon—it’ll last until noon on Day 3. You can repeat this every other day depending on your needs, saving some treasure for a souvenir instead!

Also, don’t forget to check with your cellular carrier before you set sail—some carriers include international coverage, which can save you from purchasing internet access while docked at port. It’s a great way to stay connected without turning into Captain Hook constantly checking his phone for messages from Mr. Smee.

I hope this helps you find the right balance between being “off the grid” and staying “in the loop.” With these options, you can stay connected just enough to make Ursula jealous of your Wi-Fi signal—without missing out on any of the onboard magic.

Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
    Dustin
