Less than a week until our trip! Have the DDP, and am a little worried about all the desserts. Just wondering if you can substitute an appetizer for dessert on the plan? Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Heather,

Unfortunately you normally can't substitute an appetizer for a dessert while using a table service credit from the Disney Dining Plan.  You can, however, ask that your dessert be wrapped up "to go."  I almost never have room for dessert after a lovely meal at a Disney table service restaurant.  Therefore, I regularly take my dessert with me back to my resort room.  Then I'll enjoy it later that evening for a snack or I'll save it for breakfast the next morning.  Either way, I feel like I'm getting the most out of my Disney Dining Plan credits.

Let us know if you need any more advice regarding the best use of your Disney Dining Plan credits.  My family loves using the Disney Dining Plan on vacation and I'd be happy to share with you what we've learned about optimizing the use of the plan.

Best wishes for your rapidly approaching trip!
