Hi Leslie! Planning my next trip & considering Columbus Day wknd. I love WDW in Oct but worried about crowds over the holiday wknd. Should I be? I wanted to ask you, being a Fla resident, is this a pop time for Floridians to go (w/ the day off of schoo

    Hi Lori!

As a Florida resident, I usually avoid going to Walt Disney World during 3 day holiday weekends, but I have been during Columbus Day weekend before.  It is a popular time to go since most guests have the extra day off.  There is a runDisney race the weekend before, so you could possibly run into guests who are extending their vacation into the holiday weekend as well.  Per TouringPlans.com, Saturday and Sunday will be pretty crowded, but Monday itself is less so.  Disney is still manageable even on it's busiest of days.  If this is the only option for you to visit and you don't mind crowds, then by all means, come on down!  If you can choose a less busy weekend, then I'd recommend that.

    Have a magical day!
