Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Paula. It’s so great hEARing from you again.
Your handy smart cane should work as well for you at the Walt Disney World Resort as it does at home. I have used both Google Maps and the
My Disney Experience mobile app on a number of occasions to find the best walking
route between two places at the Walt Disney World Resort. In either case, the app is able to use the GPS receiver built into your mobile device to track your current location along the path. Standard GPS satellite coverage is generally available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. There may be a few locations, particularly indoors, where GPS signals may not be able to reach to help your device pinpoint an exact location. Otherwise, you are going to be good to go forth! Even if the My Disney Experience app doesn’t happen to link through Bluetooth to your smart cane, the app may be useful for searching for your desired destination. Then you may use Google Maps to find that same location and start your trek.
Yes, many guests use regular drinking fountains to refill water bottles. You can usually find drinking fountains
located nearby most restrooms. You may even search for “restrooms” in the My Disney Experience app to locate one nearest you. A few years ago, Walt Disney World also began installing very handy “
hydration stations” that are specifically designed for refilling water bottles. The list of hydration station locations is growing. Here are some you may find:
Magic Kingdom Park:
EPCOT:
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Tony’s Tip: You are welcome to request a complimentary cup of ice water from any
Quick-Service dining location. No purchase is necessary. Feel free to drink from the provided cup or pour the nice, cool water into your own water bottle.
Have a great time planning your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Paula. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more questions you may have.
