We are leaving in 1 week for WDW and it will be my sons 1st birthday. I was wondering what a good resturaunt to take him to for his birthday celebration would be that he would enjoy? not a character one though it is too late to book one of those!

    Hello Casandra,

You must be counting down the days until your big vacation!! I know I would be!

I know how frustrating it can be not to be able to make reservations for popular character meals. But make sure keep checking with Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE. You never know - some Guests may cancel a reservation for a time that works for your family. Also, when you arrive on property, you can ask your Resort Concierge to check on availability. Or you can try walking up to the restaurant for a table. It never hurts to ask!

But if you're looking for other options to celebrate your son's big day, here are a few places I'd check out:

    • Beaches and Cream Soda Shop in the Beach Club Resort. It's not just about ice cream there. They have a great burger. And yes, the ice cream isn't bad either!
    • Pizza Planet at Hollywood Studios. Because what little boy doesn't want to be Buzz Lightyear or Woody!
    • Biergarten in World Showcase in Epcot. Good food. Great live music. I guarantee your son will want to get up and hit the dance floor!

Hope this helps. Happy eating! And happy birthday to your son!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
