Leaving in 18 for WDW! On first day we will be going to MK and eating breakfast at 8am @ chef mickey's before. My ? is...Should we drive to MK then walk to contemporary or should we drive to contemporary and then monorail to MK? it will be me, dh, dd3, dd1

    Hi Sarah!

Woo hoo!  Your trip is right around the corner!!!   Since you will be spending the majority of your day at the Magic Kingdom, I recommend parking in its lot.  A tram will take you from the parking lot to the Ticket and Transportation Center and from here, simply hop on a monorail to the Contemporary.  You will stop at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts, as well as the Magic Kingdom and finally the Contemporary Resort.  This little trip on the monorail will take around 20 minutes and is the quickest route to Chef Mickey's from the Ticket and Transportation Center.  Considering the heat and the ages of your children, this is the route that I would recommend to you.

However, if you don't mind a little walking, you may certainly ride the monorail (or ferry) directly to the Magic Kingdom from the Ticket and Transportation Center and then walk over to your breakfast.  When all is said and done, I think that the first route will be the quickest and coolest way to hang out with Mickey and the gang - have fun!
