    Leaving for WDW in 7 days and was wondering if there is anywhere in the parks that I can purchase gift cards? I want the kids to be able to keep track of how much money they have left to spend. Is there any place where they couldn't use the gift cards?

    Hi Adrienne,

    There are over 150 Merchandise locations and Food and Beverage locations where you are able to purchase these Gift Cards throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.  You will not have any trouble finding these Gift Cards, they are normally located by the cashiers in most of the gift shops and if you have any trouble (which I don't think you will) finding them....just ask a cast member and they will be happy to help you to locate some.  They can be used at select merchandise and food and beverage locations throughout all of WDW.  There may be a very limited amount of places (i.e. some food carts, ice cream carts, etc..) that may not have the electronic capabilities to accept these cards yet, but I have not personally come across any locations that did not accept them.  They are a fun option for children to have and carry around with them instead of cash and you can find many of your favorite characters on them so the kids know which ones are theirs.  One bit of advice is to write down the number which is located on the back of each card on a separate piece of paper so if anyone loses a Gift Card there may be a chance to track it, cancel it and/or issue a new one!  For each purchase the Gift Card is used for, on the receipt you will find the remaining balance left on the card so it will be easy for them to keep track of how much money has been spent and how much is left.  Have a magical day!
