Hi Chris, I stayed at
Caribbean Beach Resort in February, and would be happy to give you some input. The grounds are simply beautiful. Each Village has a beautiful beach on the lake with white sand, lounge chairs and hammocks.
The biggest surprise to a lot of Guests (including myself) is immense size of the Resort. Upon check-in at the Custom House, Bell Services will drive you to your Village. You usually won't need to go back to the Custom House again until your departure. However, the Old Port Royale, (where you'll find dining, a lounge, shopping and a Concierge Desk) is another story. Some of the rooms are located quite a distance from Old Port Royale. Be prepared to need to use an Internal Shuttle to get from your "Village" to there. The Internal Shuttles come to the bus stops approximately every 15 minutes. Since you've stayed at Pop Century, you know the food court is easily accessible. It's an adjustment to have to take a shuttle to grab a cup of coffee and danish in the morning. I will say that the food court is fabulous! I was very pleased with the selections.
The main pirate themed pool is also located at Old Port Royale. There are 9 pools at the Resort, but the pirate themed one is by far the best.
Since you are arriving in just a few days, I recommend that you call the Caribbean Beach Resort today at: 407-934-3400. Request to be assigned to a room as close to the Old Port Royale as possible. The closest buildings to there are in Martinique (buildings 26, 25 & 24) and then Trinidad North (buildings 31,32 and 33). The farthest buildings are in parts of Trinidad South (buildings 37-39) and Barbados (buildings 11 and 16). Location is everything, and I believe you'll be very pleased with your stay at the Caribbean Beach if you are placed as close to the "action" as possible.
Hope this helps and have a Magical vacation,
Kaylene
