I am leaving tomorrow for Disney World. I have been reading about modifying LL to earlier time as spots open up, but is it possible to modify your LL for a different ride, and then still book 120 min. from original booking time?

    Hi Lindsey, welcome to planDisney!

'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring except those who were too excited to sleep because they were going to Walt Disney World Resort! Ok, so maybe those aren't Clement C. Moore's exact words, but I took some creative liberties given your current situation. Your head is likely swirling with Disney details on the eve of your magical getaway. Let's dig a little deeper into Disney Genie+ service.

Disney Genie+ service is a great way to maximize the magic during your park days, especially during the busy holiday season. You can purchase Genie+ on the homepage of your My Disney Experience mobile app anytime after midnight each park day. I recommend purchasing by 6:45 a.m. so you can book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Select types of Disney Genie+ service sold out this week as early as 9:45 a.m., which is another reason to buy early.

Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations are booked via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right corner of the app's homepage > Tip Board > Scroll to desired attraction). Your reservation time represents the next available arrival window, which varies by attraction. Depending on the situation, you can make your next Genie+ Lightning Lane selection two hours after park opening, after tapping in for your current selection, after the full arrival window has passed, or 120 minutes after the booking time. The time you are eligible to make your next Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation also appears at the top of your Tip Board banner, which makes life a lot easier!

To modify a Genie+ Lighting Lane reservation, click the three small lines > My Disney Genie Day > ••• > Modify Plan. The new available arrival time for the current attraction will appear for selection as well as arrival times for new experiences at the same theme park. You can also remove members of your party during the modification process. Honing in on your specific question, Lindsey, modifying a Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation restarts the 120-minute Genie+ reservation clock referenced above.

As a general rule, I only book Genie+ Lightning Lanes that I know work well with my family's schedule. That sometimes means booking a Plan B attraction if Plan A conflicts with a dining reservation. That also means spending less time on my phone and more time interacting with my loved ones and the magical world around me.

In between Genie+ Lighting Lane reservations, Lindsey, be sure to catch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade now through December 31 at Magic Kingdom Park. Now let me exclaim ere I click out of sight, Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!
