We are leaving Thursday for WDW. My daughter lost her magic band from a previous trip. I know we can by a new one. My question is how do we get her into the park and insure that her fast passes will be on the magic band we buy?

    Hi Shawn,
Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love using Magic Bands-they make life so much easier when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. You have a couple of options regarding park entrance and Magic Bands. Ready? Here we go...

Do you have your daughter's regular park ticket from your previous trip (it's a plastic card with a character on it)? If so, it is RFID-enabled and can be used at the touch point as you enter the park. You can use this card to make linking her new Magic Band much easier-a Cast Member will scan her card, then scan the Magic Band and link the new band to her account. I did this for my son just this weekend after purchasing a new Magic Band for him for his birthday and it took all of two minutes.

If you don't have her park ticket, you will need to go to Guest Relations either at a park entrance or at Downtown Disney. I assume everything is linked in My Disney Experience (since she had a Magic Band previously), which will go a long way in helping you get a new, working park ticket for your daughter. The Cast Members are used to this sort of thing and can help you out.

If you are purchasing a new ticket for her for this trip, the Cast Member at the ticket window will simply give you a card that you can scan and link to her ID in My Disney Experience. If you have a smart phone, you can just use the camera on the phone to scan in the number. It will link everything automatically; you can then use the first set of instructions to link her new Magic Band to your reservations. If you have problems with this, there are some more very friendly Cast Members that would love to speak to you on the phone to help get this straightened out.

    Shawn, I hope this helps!!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
