We are leaving on Saturday 8-25-12, we have not told the kids yet and planning on telling them just before we leave for the airport. they are 11, 6 and 5. what is a fun way to tell them so early in the morning (5am)

Oh, I am so impressed that you could keep such a big (and magical!) secret from your children, Amanda!  I could never keep quiet about something that exciting.

There are plenty of fabulous ways you could reveal your surprise.  It's fun to think about all the possibilities.  If you have time, you could put some some mylar Disney balloons in their rooms after they fall asleep.  Tape an invitation to each child from Mickey Mouse on the back of the balloons.  Imagine the look on their faces when they read that message!

You could also awaken them for a special breakfast.  Serve Mickey waffles and then tell them the waffles are a clue to your exciting news.

Of course, you could always play Disney music to awaken them or have a family member or friend (with a voice your children wouldn't recognize) call them at 5 am, posing as a Disney Cast Member, to let them know their room at your Disney resort will be ready for their arrival later that day.

Do you have a family pet?  You could ask your kids to go feed them hamster, goldfish, etc. and have an invitation from Mickey taped to the pet's cage.

Oh, the possibilities are endless!  Let us know if you need more suggestions. Thanks for posting your question to the Moms Panel.  This was fun!

Wishing you a safe and magical journey next week,
    Jill
