Leaving MK to get to our car, is it possible to take the Resort Monorail instead of the Express to the TTC? The line for the Express Monorail is HUGE after Wishes. Will it save us time to get on the Resort Monorail instead?

    Hi Barbara,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

Yes, you can definitely take the Resort Monorail in order to head back to the Transportation and Ticket Center when you end your day at Magic Kingdom Park. As for whether it will save you time vs. the Express Monorail, that’s really anyone’s guess! I tend to pick the slowest line at the grocery store, so I can understand the frustration of picking the “wrong” line!

I’d probably stick with the Express Monorail, unless the lineup is ridiculously long. While the Express Monorail line can be pretty massive once the Park closes for the day, it heads straight to the Transportation and Ticket Center. If you take the Resort Monorail, you’ll have to stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort before finally arriving at your destination, which can add some significant loading/unloading time. Depending on how big the line is, the Express Monorail may still save you some time, in the end.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort… and helps you pick the “best” monorail at the end of your Disney Day! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
