We are leaving for a long trip to DIsneyworld next month. Since we live in Seattle, it will be a long, hard flight. What kind of things can we bring on the plane to keep the kids satisfied? (9 and 10 yr. old girls) Also, what kind of things should we pack?

Hi, Joel!  I have my standard bag of tricks for every flight for my 7 and 10 year olds!

-SNACKS!   Nothing helps a long flight like a bag of goldfish crackers,  M&M's, and some lollipops (OK, the M&M's are for me!)

-Electronics are great:  Nintendo DS's, ipods, portable dvd players.   Just make sure they are fully charged before leaving home and bring the power cords to re-charge for your flight home.

-Order "Guide to the Magic for Kids" book.   (You can find it on Amazon.)  Each of my kids have one, and it is filled with WDW info, trivia, stickers, and more.   Get one for each of your girls to keep them busy and also serves as a great autograph book.   My kids bring theirs every trip, they are really worth the money.

-Activity books such as word searches and Sodoku are also a great way to pass time.

As far as packing, August is HOT in Florida!    Shorts, tank tops, bathing suits, and shoes that dry quickly as it does rain frequently during the hot summer months.   Don't forget sunscreen, rain ponchos, hats, camera, and sunglasses.

Good luck on your flight and enjoy your stay at WDW!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
