We are leaving on Friday to sail the Disney Wonder to Mexico. Can we bring our own bottled water on board? Can we bring our own wine opener or does the ship provide that? Is it cold in the dining rooms? Does my room have a bunk as there are 4 of us.

    Ahoy, Jessica!

I’m glad you brought your questions to planDisney. At the end of the week, you’ll be boarding the Disney Wonder enjoying the delicious food, outstanding service, and sunny skies. You must be so excited! It sounds like you’re busy packing for your vacation, so let’s dive in!

Hydration is important, especially in warmer climates. You can bring bottled water onboard. The bottles must be sealed and fit in your carry-on luggage. Just remember that water is heavy, and your stateroom might not be available when you board. I recommend bringing a reusable water bottle instead. Filtered water is available on the pool deck at the complimentary beverage stations. There are disposable paper cups you can use to grab a drink as you walk by or use a cup to refill your personal bottle.

I’m glad you thought to check about prohibited items. No worries! Your wine opener is allowed onboard. Disney’s Alcohol Policy allows Guests 21 years and older to bring up to two unopened bottles of wine or champagne OR 6 cans of beer in their carry-on luggage. Your stateroom host can even provide glasses for you to enjoy a glass of wine in your stateroom.

Packing a lightweight sweater is a great idea. My family is perfectly comfortable around the ship, but I get a little cold in the dining rooms and the theatre. You can request an extra blanket from your Stateroom Host if you find your room chilly. The extra blanket is handy during nap time or when relaxing in your cabin. Put on a Disney movie and order a complimentary Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar from room service for an extra special treat!

Jessica, because you have four in your travel party, everyone will have a comfortable place to sleep. Your stateroom will have a queen bed, a single sleeper sofa, and an upper berth pull-down bed. The upper bed has a ladder and bedrail to keep the sleeper safe.

Well, that about covers it; your Disney Cruise Line adventure is full steam ahead!  Staterooms are usually ready around 1:30 P.M. So go ahead and unpack your suitcase, sip a glass of wine, and relax – you’re on vacation! I hope this helps as you prepare to head to the port. Please keep planDisney in mind for your next Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

    Bon Voyage!
