Hi there, Gisela!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Guess what?!?! You are going to Walt Disney World Resort next week!! How exciting! I sure wish I was preparing for my own adventure to the theme parks, but still have a bit of time to wait for my family’s trip to arrive! Until then, I will share in your excitement!
Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel has lots of
benefits, but of them all, my favorite is the
Extra Magic Hours! Being able to enter the theme parks before they officially open OR stay late after they officially close is so great! I always feel like I have the entire theme park to myself, although I know this is certainly NOT the case, but it sure feels like it! You do not need to sign up or book the Extra Magic Hours, but you do need to be certain that you have the required “credentials” to gain access! In order to take part in Extra Magic Hours you need to have a valid theme park admission ticket or a MagicBand and you must show your resort identification upon entering the theme parks! So, it’s as easy as that! For evening Extra Magic Hours, you may be asked to show your resort identification so I always recommend ensuring you have that with at all times since you never know when you may need it! Also, I always recommend being at the theme park entrance that has the Extra Magic Hours about 30-minutes before those hours start to ensure that you get the most of this extra time! Remember that any bags you bring in with you will be checked upon entry, so I also always suggest reviewing the
park rules ahead of time to ensure you haven’t missed anything!
As your vacation gets closer, make sure you have the
My Disney Experience Mobile app downloaded so you will have access to park hours, including Extra Magic Hours, schedules of entertainment, wait times and much more!
Wishing you a magical and memorable vacation!
Stephanie
