Hi! We are leaving in 6 days to stay at the Polynesian. My kids are asking if the volcano erupts and how often if so at the pool? We were also wondering if we needed to bring arm swimmies for my 4YO and something for our 11 month old to swim in. Thanks so

    Hi Sabrina!

The volcano at the main pool of the Polynesian Resort does erupt throughout the day.  Children especially love to see the eruption and love guessing as to when it will happen next.  If you spend any amount of time near the pool area, you will definitely see it.  The volcano pool is 40 feet high and has a 120 feet long water slide.  Some of the other features of the pool are underwater jets, warmer water areas, in pool seating, and a zero entry at the beach end of the pool.

With regards to bringing something for your children, I think it is up to you.  The pool does have a zero entry entrance so your children could stay at the shallow end of the pool.  That is still very close to the volcano as the pool is not that large; from the shallow end you won't miss any of the excitement of being in the pool when the volcano erupts.

I hope this helps!  The Polynesian Resort is a wonderful resort.  Enjoy!
