    We are leaving in 11 days for our first family trip to Disney. We have a 5 & 3 year old and are staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Do you recommend calling ahead to reserve a golf cart?

    Hi Jodi!

    Your kids are going to love "The Fort"!  It's a kid's dream!  The cabins are a wonderful way to spend a family vacation.  While carts are not necessary to get around because the resort has its own internal bus-line, my kids regularly list riding around in one on their "Disney Highlights" list.  If you are interested in renting a golf cart, I would definitely recommend reserving one in advance, as they are limited and can "rent out".  To make reservations, call the Bike Barn (407-824-2742 ).  They are open from 8 am to 6 pm EST).

    While you are there, I highly recommend the Chip & Dale campfire and sing along, catching the Electric Water Pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon and one of the two fabulous dinner shows:  Hoop De Do Review and Mickey's Backyard BBQ.  (Mickey's BBQ would be my pick for a family with children your age.)
