Oh boy, Theresa! It sure is swell that you stopped by planDisney with your question. Having a mobility issue at Disneyland Resort can be overwhelming, but it sounds like you already have a good plan in place. I'm happy to help!
Electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) rentals are available at Disneyland Resort, but since you can't reserve them in advance, it's a good idea to arrive about 30 minutes before park opening time. The rental location is very convenient, just outside the Disneyland Park Main Entrance. I spoke with a Cast Member at
Disability Services today, and he said that you are welcome to leave your walker in their storage room while you are using the ECV in the parks. If you want any further information, feel free to contact them at Disability.Services@DisneyParks.com or call (407) 560-2547.
Most of the attractions at Disneyland Park were built years ago before there were ADA standards, so some queues cannot accommodate wheelchairs or ECVs. In these cases, Cast Members will assist you in finding an accessible entrance. Disney California Adventure Park has more accessible queues, so you can typically use the regular line. Also, the Disneyland Resort website has a listing of helpful
Attraction Access Categories. This will help you know in advance which attractions you'll be required to transfer from your Electric Conveyance Vehicle.
Here are some helpful planDisney tips:
*Bring phone chargers to use in the USB ports on the ECV.
*If the weather looks like it might rain, throw a poncho over the handles of the ECV to keep it dry. You may also want to bring a small towel to dry off the seat.
*Tie something brightly colored ribbon or scarf on the handle of your ECV to help you identify it quickly if you decide to park it.
I hope this helps, Theresa! If you have any more questions, the planDisney team is all ears!
