Hi there, Meghan! Welcome to
planDisney.
Meghan,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separate ticketed event on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park. On these nights, the theme park does close early at 6:00 p.m. to Guests who have a regular daytime ticket. If you do not purchase a party ticket, you will need to exit Magic Kingdom Park around 6:00 p.m. If you are in line for an attraction at this time, no worries. You won't be rushed out of line. You can enjoy the attraction and then once you are finished a Cast Member will kindly point you in the direction of the exit. Because of the early closing time, you will not be able to watch the fireworks inside of Magic Kingdom Park.
If you have your heart set on watching fireworks at
Magic Kingdom Park, maybe consider switching your park pass reservations around and visiting on a day when there isn't a party. Alternatively, if you have park hopper tickets, where you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day, you could always hop on over to EPCOT for the rest of the evening. You would be able to see their new firework spectacular,
Harmonious, which is actually my favorite of the two shows. If you have your heart set on seeing the Magic Kingdom firework show, you could always watch it on the night that you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park from a neighboring Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. You could hop on the monorail and ride it over to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. There is a great lounge upstairs called the
Tambu Lounge that you don't need a reservation for. The bar and small tables around are first-come, first-serve. They have great snacks and sips, actually from the 'Ohana menu, and a perfect view of the firework show. My family and I oftentimes watch the fireworks from the Tambu Lounge, we love it!
I hope I've given you a few ideas that you might like, Meghan. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Happy holidays!
Jackie H.
