We leave for our magical vacation on Tuesday. I have been watching the 10 day weather forecast as I begin to pack for our trip. Today it said there is a 40-50% chance of rain everyday for our first 4 days there. Does this mean our trip is ruined?

    Hi Julie:

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Around two weeks prior to my Walt Disney World Resort Vacation I become obsessed with the Weather Network, especially the long-term forecast for Orlando, Florida.  Rain is very common when visiting Florida (I definitely think rain is much better than the snow we would be getting at home), and your vacation will not be ruined.  One of the many fabulous things about Walt Disney World Resort is the amount of indoor experiences that are available to guests.  If the rain is picking up, simply find an indoor experience to enjoy until the rain passes.

I would recommend packing ponchos for your family, and when it starts to rain, put them on.  You won't be the most stylish guests, however you will be able to continue exploring the theme parks without getting too wet.  My family and I actually have a contest for the most creative picture wearing ponchos.  These photos have actually turned out to be some of my favourite memories from our visits.  Also, most of the queues are covered and unless the rain is significant, the attractions will continue to run.

Please don't worry about the rain Julie.  Walt Disney World Resort is a magical destination, and I am positive you will enjoy your experience rain or shine.
