So, do you have to leave the Magic Kingdom and come back to your resort for each meal? (I'm thinking that would be lunch and dinner...) Or can you eat meals at the places in the park(s)? I'm confused as to how the dining plans work....???

    Hi Cynthia,

Thank you for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let me first start off by saying I LOVE the Disney Dining Plan.  Not only is it a great value, the Disney Dining Plan is extremely flexible. But perhaps the biggest perk for me is knowing my family' meals are already taken care of before we arrive and all we have to do is enjoy our vacation.

There are 3 types of plans:  Quick-Service Dining Plan, (standard) Disney Dining Plan, and Deluxe Dining Plan. Typically most Guests favor the standard Disney Dining Plan which features 1 Quick-Service meal, 1 Table-Service meal and 1 snack per day per person. For first time Guests I definitely recommend this plan and will refer to it below.

The 2014 Disney Dining Plan has extensive restaurants in which to choose. Take a look at the previous link to view the current restaurants participating in the Disney Dining Plan. You will notice restaurants at every Resort hotel, theme park, Downtown Disney, both water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports. In addition to a large variety of restaurants, there are also many food carts and kiosks which have snack selections. You can travel anywhere on Walt Disney World property and have access to restaurants that participate in the Disney Dining Plans. You do not have to travel back to your Resort hotel in order to have a meal or snack. Another benefit of the Disney Dining Plan is that you may use your meal and snack credits in any order you wish.

Thank you for your question. Please come back and visit us again with any more of your vacation planning questions! We love to help.

    Blessings,
