Hello, can we still leave our luggage at the Bell Service if we are checking in and out before actually leaving the Resort? We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter in May. Thank you!

Hello there, Rita! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you and your family are going to be making magical memories at Walt Disney World Resort this May! Now, if I May ... haha, get it? ... allow me to help answer your question!

Have you done this before? To paraphrase Kuzco, "all your ideas are good ones!" You're exactly right about using Bell Services to hold your luggage immediately before and after your stay! This is one of my favorite tips, and it seems like the word is getting out! On my most recent visit, I had about five hours to fill before my transportation back to the airport after checkout time had already passed. The incredible Cast Members at Bell Services were able to hold my bags for me while I raced over to EPCOT to ride Spaceship Earth and Test Track one more time and to try and get into Space 220 without a reservation, haha!

Likewise, the other great time to use Bell Services is on your check-in day. I like to arrive as early as possible and leave my luggage before I head off to enjoy the parks without having to lug around even a backpack. Then once I get the notification in the My Disney Experience app that my room is ready, I can head back, claim my bags, and spend the afternoon settling into my hotel!

You can do the exact same thing if you like at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, even if you just plan to stay around the resort! That's right, you can drop your bags off, and head over to grab a bite to eat at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory or unwind with drinks, coffee, or beignets to the live jazz at Scat Cats Cafe, or even get in a swim at Doubloon Lagoon - the possibilities are endless!

I hope that helps you plan for both your arrival and your departure this May, Rita! But don't think about saying, "see ya real soon" just yet - there's so much fun to be had as part of "The World's Most Magical Celebration" and now you know you won't be weighed-down by your luggage! Sounds like a magical time to me!

Thank you so much for your question, Rita, and if any others float by as you continue planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!

    Adventure is out there!
