We leave Jan 3 for 5 day Bah. cruise. For the 5 of us we have a wall, ceiling & couch & reg. bed. My 3 yo is too yng for a ceiling bed, my 8 & 10 yr old have fallen out of bunks (sleepwalking) over the rails. Can I put the mattress on floor

    Hi Shelley,

What a way to ring in the New Year!  I was in your shoes not too long ago - and I was a nervous wreck about the bunk beds.  My daughter opted to sleep up there, but got frustrated because the pillow kept falling off the end of the bed - and I was not getting the most restful night sleep out of worry she would fall off.

We wound up playing musical beds before we found a way that all of us would sleep well.  Unfortunately the only options were 1) adult on the bunk (I'll admit it was a bit comical to see my husband sleeping up there) or 2) our youngest in bed with us.

So based on my experience, I would suggest having the three year old cuddle in with you!  For future cruises, we actually made the decision to forego the verandah in favor of two connecting staterooms.  The added space an a ground-level bed for everyone is a plus!

You can ask your cabin host/hostess if the mattress can be moved - but I imagine it would be cumbersome to do so (if there is even room on the floor).

    Have a great cruise!
