We leave for our first Disney trip in 5 weeks! I'm taking my 2 children but would like to do something special for my 2 grandchildren, who aren't able to go. Are the Disney characters allowed to hold a sign (that I wld take) and take a picture with it?

    Hi Sandra,

Your first Walt Disney World Vacation is right around the corner, hopefully the next few weeks will pass quickly!  What a thoughtful grandmother, I'm sure your grandchildren will love receiving such a magical surprise from your vacation!  Most characters will hold up a sign, however it is up to their discretion.  They are required to read the sign and make a decision based on that.  I can't see any character having a problem with a sign greeting your grand kids, you just need to ask!

I would also suggest to purchase a photo mat prior to your vacation and have characters sign the mat as well.  When you arrive home, you can put the photo of your grand children's favourite character holding the sign in a frame with the autographed mat!

Walt Disney World also has a variety of postcards.  I like to have characters sign the postcard and send it home to my daughter so when she arrives back home there is some magical mail waiting for her!

I hope this information helps Sandra.  Please let me know if you have any other questions during the next few weeks.  I would be happy to help make your "Disney Time" even more magical!
