    Hello. We leave for Disney World in 38 days, we have the 1 QS and 1 TS Dining Plan for 5 of us for 7 days. Is there any way to roughly estimate how much we will need to tip during that time? Thank you.

    How exciting that your Walt Disney World vacation is just 38 days away!

    I love, love, LOVE the Disney Dining Plan and I use it for my family of four on each and every trip!
    Tipping amount is really based on 18-20% of the value of the total dining bill for your travel party. If you have kids under 9 in your travel party, their meals at table service will often be substantially less than the age 10+ meals. As a guesstimated guideline, I'd say that you can probably budget about $25 - $35 daily for tipping, assuming that you dine at just 1 Table Service restaurant daily. This would come out to about $250 over the course of your holiday.

    Keep in mind also that your tipping can be charged to your room account, so there's no need to carry cash around with you during the day. We often charge everything during the day, and then stop by the lobby for a printout of our room account as we retire for the evening. Every few days, I'll pop by the lobby to pay off the balance using cash we brought, to help keep us on budget and not rack up the credit card! I find it's a handy system and saves us the worry of carrying cash around all day.
