    We leave for Disney Fantasy cruise on Sept. 10. Have been assigned stateroom deluxe oceanview on the deck 2. Had thought we would want a veranda, Is it possible to change? and what are the pros and cons of deck 2 or higher on ship? 2 adults, 2 kids

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We are excited to hear about your upcoming trip on the Disney Fantasy! I am happy to help with your stateroom dilemma. There is a possibility that you may be able to change your stateroom, but it depends upon availability and what type of stateroom you originally booked.

    If the ship is full and there are no available staterooms, you will not have the opportunity to change rooms. Often there are cancellations so you can check back again and also at embarkation. Also, if you booked a Guaranteed Stateroom, you might not be able to change your room assignment. I suggest that you contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to see what your options are.

    My crew has stayed on Deck 2, and in my opinion of it all – as long as I am on a Disney Cruise ship, I do not care what deck I am on. Some of the pros for staying on Deck 2 were: relatively peaceful and quiet, same floor as Enchanted Garden Restaurant, close to Deck 3 and all the action in the Lobby Atrium, and the best pro of all is that it was on Disney Cruise Line. The only cons we noticed were: no access to Aft elevators (Midship and Forward were open) and any trip to the pool deck had to be on elevators because it was too many stairs for our crew.
